Baby boomers entering a new phase of life are looking to reshape themselves as they reshape the post-55-years-old dating world.
Whether it’s surgical or non-surgical, the cosmetic procedures are selected to help baby boomers feel and look better and gain confidence when they’re meeting potential partners.
About 20 million boomers – Americans born between 1946 and 1964 — are currently using dating sites in hopes of finding a mate.
Many are currently single, census figures show. One in four boomers are divorced or never married. About one out of every six Boomers lives alone.
Research shows this group is increasingly seeking cosmetic procedures to look their best in their profiles and gain the confidence necessary to enter the dating scene and find a mate.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, adults over 55-years-old accounted for two-thirds of all facelifts performed in 2018 and 62 percent of all hair transplants. Boomers accounted for nearly half of all eyelid surgeries.
Forehead lifts were also popular for the age group with 55 percent of all surgeries done on adults over 55.
Regardless of which procedure is selected, it’s important that boomers work with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Certification assures that the surgeon has undergone extensive specialized training and is held to the highest safety and quality standards.
